Dario Fo's "MEDEA" and on a story by विजयदान देथा Directed By Arvind Gaur

I was dreading this. A solo, one-woman performance, involving puppets,
drawing on a Greek myth and dealing with the subject of female empowerment?
I was sharpening my pencil for a bad review. But I was very very pleasantly
surprised. This was an excellent piece of theatre, with equally excellent
direction. It was saved from descent into a dull feminist rant by the
powerful performance of Lushin Dubey - though diction wasn't always as
clear as it could be - and the added cultural dimension provided by the
Asian production made it all the more relevant. It was, however, the rudest
audience I've had the pleasure to sit amongst so far this year, with mobile
phone noise and chatting throughout.
